If yoiu are experiencing basic issues with your security system here are a few pointers that may help.
Power Issues
As always with electrical equipment if you are not comfortable with system diagnosis or you are just not sure its probable best to keep safe and let a professional technician do the diagnosis.
Before you do though you can do a few things first.
1. Is the system turned on. If you can smell a burnt smell turn off the wall socket straight away. This would be the worst outcome.
2 Test the wall socket has the correct voltage (240VAC)
3. Test the power lead by swapping it with another (if able)
4. Replace the failed power supply
If the issue remains stubborn it may be time to consider reaching out, we may be able to help.
Network Issues
We can write a book on this topic and might just do that one day. Networking if done incorrectly may causse a multitude of problems it can also leave your connection vulnerable to unwanted traffic.
If you have upgraded your network router, Modem or internet security fire wall settings you may need a technician to reconfigure your security network. A basic rule of thumbe is
1. Check to see if your device is plugged in to the network and if it is communicating. You should do this from inside your modem configuration suite.
2. Check if the internet connection is solid
3. Look for any data traveling through the network (between cameras and Recorder.)
4. Disconnect the service from your device and reconnect it after a short period.
5. Considering your modem hasn’t been upgraded since your system was installed. APP not linking up correctly. or you cant see your system from outside your own network. Turn off your Phones WiFi and try logging in.
Network issues can sometimes be the result of a server upgrade or an external issue beyond any ones control. At this stage contact the company that installed your system. They would be well positioned to help you.
